Welcome to my hobbies

This site is just dedicated to my hobbies. It is not meant for any kind of profit. There are no sponsors or premium content. I am just sharing things that are real from my experiences, and my experiences positive or negative. My biggest hobbies are Dungeons and Dragons, Photography, and Computer stuff, but I do occasionally post about other things. My outlook is generally positive so do not expect to see me posting dozens of rage fueled blog posts. I think the number 1 cause of negative reviews is that people use or buy things with wildly incorrect expectations of what they are getting into. Also, I almost never seriously engaged in fights about X being better than Y, preferring to just comment on why I like a specific thing. I am not interested in filling my site with comments, so if you have an opinion to spout at me, come find me on BlueSky.

Pardon the dust and the nonsensical imagery. I am just starting the website build, so the initial images are whatever came in the template until I can sort out my own stuff.

Dungeons Dragons

I have been playing D&D for over 30 years now. I started in the early days of Second Edition and continue on to this day. My core group has contained many of the same people since 1996 but has expanded to include my kids. I also love to onboard new people and try new things. I do play other TTRPGs on occasion, but my primary focus now that I have less free time is D&D as its my favorite. I am actively playing 5E and 3.5E.

Photography

I love photography. It started as a way to record memories because my memory is rubbish, but I have really expanded. I love experimenting with all sorts of subjects, and I primarily shoot Canon, though I have dabbled in Sony and Nikon over the years. I also like Phone Photography if only because it’s improved enough to be helpful, and I always have it with me, even when I can’t bring an SLR/Mirrorless Camera.

Computers

I love so many things in the computer space, it is hard for me to pick a favorite. I enjoy Windows, Mac, and Linux; they all have strengths and weaknesses of their own. I love playing with a wide gamut of professional software, and occasionally play a game or two. I have a weird collection of nice hardware from almost 30 years of working in IT, and while I am not always an expert in a specific area, I have so many friends and professional contacts it’s amazing what I can figure out or get help with.
